I stumbled upon Knitato page on Instagram then discovered I could actually learn to make a gorgeous cardigan. In fabulous Kelly Green shade too! The pattern was so easy and when I got stuck, I could always watch YouTube tutorial (love how it is straight to the point too!) and ask Karen for extra guidance. I absolutely love the cardigan for its unique design and luxurious feel from high quality merino wool. So obsessed with Knitato kits!
I loved knitting this kit up! I’d say I’m a more experienced knitter than this kit is aimed for but coming back to a chunky knit kit like this one was a fun and rewarding experience. I’ve been wanting a nice oversized cardigan for winter and this has been perfect. I knit this up in Light Grey and this chunky wool is one of the best I’ve knitted with - super soft and bouncy and doesn’t feel oily but dry on my hands. I do wish there was more “texture” (maybe more tweed-like or a mix mohair) to provide it with more dimension as the one block of colour does make it look a bit flat but that’s just personal taste. It’s lovely nonetheless.
I’m not a fan of flat knitting (I honestly just hate seaming and am a huge fan of knitting in the round so I can avoid this) but this is a great intro kit for someone who is looking to learn a new skill and make something amazing for their winter wardrobe.
