I wanted to share my experience for a more balanced view. I purchased this kit, along with several others, expecting it to be suitable for an absolute beginner, but it turned out to be a great challenge. While Knitaro was very responsive and a great help, I found the main instructional playlist focused more on the 'how-to' rather than 'how-to-fix' aspects, and as a beginner, I make a lot of mistakes. The yarn, although truly beautiful and fluffy, is fragile and difficult for a beginner to handle. It's prone to breaking, which means I not only have to follow the instructions closely but also be mindful of the yarn's delicacy. Too loose and the project fails, too tight and the yarn breaks. And the yarn's inconsistent thickness just added more stress. Some parts seem so stressed out thin that it looks like it can break at any point (spoiler: It did several times). Also, be prepared for a lot of fur shedding during your practice. My advice for those who usually buy in bulk like myself, is to start with just 1 kit to see how it goes. I now find myself with 2 unused kits and a lot of yarn scattered around my room lol
Was the perfect beginner piece as it's quick to knit up once you get the hang of it and you have something amazing to show even if you are such a tight knitter you technically do it a bit small like I did lol. Once I'm better at knitting I want to get the same kit again to really see how much I've improved and loosened up!
Am disappointed that the quantity of a particular colour I ordered wasn’t available even though the website stated it was
I had a great time making this jumper. The wool quality is great and super soft and I even had about half a ball of each colour left over afterwards. This is a really great way to get used to knitting intarsia also. I chose light and dark purple and it looks great!
Never in a million years did I think I could make something this beautiful (I'd only ever made a scarf previously!). I learnt so much through making this though and the videos were incredibly helpful! It was challenging but not too much thanks to all the support. So stoked with the final result and can't wait to show it off!
